SWIMMING NEW ZEALAND MOURNS THE PASSING OF JAN CAMERON
It is with great sadness that Swimming New Zealand mourns the passing of former National Coach and High-Performance Manager, Jan Cameron who passed away suddenly in the early hours of Monday 30 April 2018 at her home aged 70.
Jan was appointed Swimming New Zealand’s National Head Coach in 2001 and coached many of New Zealand representatives such as Dean Kent, Hannah Welsh (nee Mclean, Helen Norfolk, her son Scott Talbot-Cameron, Andy McMillan, Melissa Ingram, Cameron Gibson, Liz Coster, Alison Fitch, Nick Sheeran, Glenn Snyders, Steve Ferguson, Monique Robins, Corney Swanepoel and Moss Burmester to various Olympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
SWIMMING AUSTRALIA MOURNS THE LOSS OF JAN CAMERON
It is with great sadness that Swimming Australia advises of the sudden passing of National Para Sport Mentor Coach Jan Cameron in the early hours of Monday 30 April 2018 at her home aged 70.
As Swimming Australia’s current Para Sport Mentor Coach, Jan was a much-loved member of our Swimming Family – staff, coaches, officials and athletes alike. Jan’s illustrious career has spanned all areas of swimming including as an athlete, coach and administrator.

If you are competing at Open level events this year (both Long Course and Short Course National Championships), you are classed as a national level athlete by Drug Free Sport NZ (DFSNZ). This means that you could be subject to drug testing, and there are a few things you need to be aware of.
